While gearing up for the first live show in season 2, “The Voice” completed the 24 finalists in the last battle rounds on 26th March. Judging proved to be tough for Cee-Lo Green as he could not control his tears when he had to pick between WADE and James Massone, who were brought together to perform Cyndi Lauper’s “True Colors”.

The Gnarls Barkley singer told WADE that he expected him to go all the way to the end of this. Unfortunately, he couldn’t deny James’ dominance during the latest performance. After the other judges expressed their favors for James, the Cee-Lo decided to send the Massachusetts guy to the next round.

Cee-Lo later pitted Tony Vincent against Justin Hopkins to perform Journey’s “Faithfully”. The two singers brought their mentor to tears during their practice sessions. The other judges were divided after watching their performance. Adam Levine was supporting for Justin and Christina Aguilera inclination on Tony. Cee-Lo finally made the hard decision and picked Tony to go through the live show.

Perhaps Cee Lo remained composed because he couldn’t see the TV-edited close-ups of each man’s family. The weepy artist favored Wade throughout the episode, but could not dispute Massone’s dominance during the pair’s final performance.
Every judge seemed completely swept up by each man’s performance, including Cee-Lo, who decided to keep Broadway singer Tony Vincent.

On 2nd April, “The Voice” will return with a live show on NBC.

While these two along with Cee Lo Green and Blake Shelton, the fourth judge, all fight for contestant Charlotte Sometimes, the thirty-seven year old faces at the two and tells, ‘You two should get a room.’ After a pause, he adds, ‘You can use my place!’

The thirty-one year old singing sensation readily shakes her head and reveals, ‘No, stop. Nasty!’ There is, however, an odd moment of hush as both Christina and Levine blush under the shiny lights. Finally, the blonde powerhouse, puts a full stop to all the teasing, saying to bring it back to the talent.

Sometimes, ironically, chose singer Shelton as her private instructor who stayed quite during the exchange. The auditions started with twenty-six year old Ducky. Even though his adaptation of the Black Keys’ Tighten Up is quite incredible, all the judges were unable to press the buzzers.Twenty-three year old Brazilian Jonathas was next. She sounds totally like Usher during the performance.

The spectators turned wild, causing both Christina and Green to press their buttons. Even though he is a huge fan of Green, Jonathas admits that he had a crush on Aguilera.

Aguilera is glad with her decision and added that he is a crowd pleaser. Monique Benabou performed a nice version of Mr. Know It All (Kelly Clarkson) and got her wish fulfilled when Aguilera pressed the buzzer. Blake is really sweet. He says even though Christina and he want to kill each other sometimes, he still think she’s hands-down the best female vocalist of this generation. Adam agrees and ads that she is amazing.

Green changed the lyrics of the song which sparked an immediate controversy. While the original lyrics read as “Nothing to kill or die for/And no religion too,” Green sang it as “Nothing to kill or die for/ And all religion’s true.”

Cee Lo Green, who is currently a judge in the NBC reality show “The Voice” promptly defended his lyrics and tweeted that he meant no disrespect to the late Beatles singer and only wanted to represent the idea of a world where one is free to choose his or her own beliefs and ideas.

Evidently, Cee Lo’s apology was not acceptable to the fans of John Lennon and they expressed their disapproval through Twitter. Cee Lo then removed his tweet and replaced it with “Now playing: We Just
Disagree: Dave Mason.” Green responded to a Twitter inquiry and clarified it by saying that was just a general indifference and not an answer to his performance of “Imagine.” Green then chose not to respond to any further requests for comment from his side.

Yoko Ono also refused to comment regarding this lyrical controversy.  However, she did post a tweet on January 3rd saying “Imagining Peace – that’s something that we can all do together – even when we have different opinions about so many things!”

The previous commotion relating to John Lennon occurred during the summer of 2010 when John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s son Sean Lennon tweeted a picture of Lady Gaga playing on the piano that was once featured in the “Imagine” video. At that time, Sean defended Lady Gaga on Twitter in two responses. Now only time will reveal how Cee Lo will handle this lyrical controversy.
