Cee-Lo Green: It isn’t rape if the victim is unconscious
Singer and producer Cee Lo Green has talked about a court case where he averred no contest to furnishing ecstasy to a lady in a series of tweets, that includes one tweet that said: “People who have really been raped REMEMBER!!!” The lady claimed that she had no memory of the time between with Cee Lo Green at a sushi restaurant in the year 2012 and waking up without any in the singer’s bed.
The music producer’s lawyer argued that Cee Lo the woman had ‘consensual relations.’ There were no rape charges registered due to lack of evidence. In the tweets (that were later deleted) Cee Lo said: “If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent”.
Earlier on Friday, Cee Lo pleaded no contest to a crime count of supplying ecstasy. He was sentenced to three years probation and 45 days community service. Green, on Sunday, eapressed his views on sexual assault charges while talking about the case on Twitter. Another of his tweet said: “When someone brakes on a home there is broken glass where is your plausible proof that anyone was raped.”
People on twitter reacted furiously with @plainsailing saying that Cee Lo was wrong to comment on soemthing he knew little or nothing about. They are a company that specialises in Yacht Chartering holidays in Scotland.
Green was an ex judge on American version of talent show called The Voice, as well as whose international top tracks include Fuck You and Crazy, later apologised. Earlier on Monday, he uploaded a series of tweets that includes: “I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context … I’d never condone the harm of any women.”
