Black Eyed Peas to perform at Johor Sultan’s coronation

US hip hop band Black Eyed Peas and T-Ara, the Korean girl pop artist, are all set to come to Johor to perform in a 4-day long free music fest in Danga Bay, and it is a part of the celebrations to lionize the coronation of Sultan of Johor. Other top names who will perform at the fest include Korea’s Sistar, Indonesia’s Rossa, Taiwanese ‘Fuying & Sam’, along with legendary local music artists like Jaclyn Victor, Sheila Majid, Penny Tai, Nicole and Shila Amzah will also entertain people in an open-air gig, starting on 26th March.

Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, the chairman of Johor Tourism, Domestic Trade and Consumerism Committe, said in a statement that the gigs were arranged by Johor Tourism Department, in association with Iskandar Waterfront Holdings Sdn Bhd. This is the very first time when Black Eyed Peas, that band that has sold an estimated 76 million records and also considered as one of the top hip hop groups of all time, will perform in Johor.

Along with this, a series pf other activities such as like F3000 Power Boat Race, Datuk Tee Siew Kiong, Beach Sports, Cycleton Around Johor, Boats Floats Procession as well as spectacular fireworks would also take place in connection with the celebrations.

Seven countries will take part in F3000 Power Boat Race, including New Zealand, Brazil, Thailand, Singapore and Papua New Guinea. Cycleton Around Johor is also getting arranged for the very first time and twenty teams will take part in that.
